What is EASE?
Ease was set up to offer mindfulness courses, started online during the pandemic, but has now extended to meditation and crystal bowl sound healing in person. The latter two offered as tools to creating a more harmonious lifestyle, whilst mindfulness is a lifelong practice that will transform your life and the lives of those around you.
Who am I?
The majority of my career so far has been in teaching- namely as an English teacher in secondary school. After a gap to have children, I returned to teaching and noticed a marked increase in pupils suffering from anxiety, stress and tension. Schools are also now better at diagnosing ADHD, autism, and other conditions which can affect a child’s pathway through school. Wondering how I could help, I stumbled across mindfulness. Until this time- 2015- I had been a firm mindfulness sceptic. But, of course I was also very ignorant of what mindfulness is. I completed the MiSP (Mindfulness in Schools Project) course for secondary pupils and wrote a course for S1 pupils which integrated into the English curriculum. I went on to do the primary course, then in 2018 began the MsC in Mindfulness at Aberdeen University. I completed my teacher training through Breathworks for the Mindfulness for Stress and Health courses. Recently, I have fulfilled level one in Sound Healing through the Sound Healing Academy and am excited to offer multi-disciplinary sessions on all three practices of mindfulness, meditation and sound. Still a working teacher but in early retirement and part-time, I feel I now have the time to set aside to indulge myself in these newfound passions and really try to make a difference to peoples’ lives.
