The hour long sessions are for anyone and everyone. You may have health issues including arthritis, rheumatism, specific joint pain…or you may feel overwhelmed, anxious all the time, tense…or you may already know that giving yourself an hour when you can step out of your life is the best present you can give your present and future self.
The sessions begin with a 5 minute chat on an aspect of mindfulness which you can take away with you. You might want to make notes and keep a kind of journal but all the information can be found on in the members’ page of the website. I will also try to write a blog each week outlining the different ideas discussed. Then we get comfy- bring a yoga mat (necessary), a lightweight blanket, and eye pillow and a small pillow for your head (all optional but you will be lying down for almost an hour). Please don’t bring large pillows as these will inhibit the quality of sound. A short meditation will follow- most likely a body scan or version of it. Then we immerse ourselves in a 40 minute sound experience. I use crystal bowls and chimes. If you want to find out more about these then click the link below.
Requirements- an online consent form. Sound baths are not recommended for those under 16 weeks pregnant, could be pregnant, have a heart condition or suffer from sound epilepsy. If you are unsure of any of these please contact your GP. The consent form is a simple tick box that you have read and understood this. It will be sent to you only once when you book your first class.

Mindfulness
Most people come to mindfulness with specific issues: they feel anxious, stressed, overwhelmed. Some come with chronic pain. I came to mindfulness with no agenda other than to help people, which I achieved. However, after a few years of practicing I noticed just how much being mindful had made my life, my approach to people, and especially my judgemental being, so much better.
I like to say that mindfulness is, first of all, a recognition or an awareness of what’s happening to you- specifically your body. Most disease (Harvard University says 80%) comes from inflammation caused by chronic stress and/or withheld trauma. This, in layman’s terms means that if we can recognise when we are stressed or in pain and do something about it then we will lead healthier, and therefore happier, lives. The Mindfulness for Stress course and the Mindfulness for Health course take you through an 8 week online introduction to mindfulness and how you can use it in your daily life to understand yourself, your actions, other people and do something to make your life better
The final key word is practice! Mindfulness is a practice. Doing one course will not change your life. It’s like training for a 5k when you want to run ultra marathons, or taking one music lesson when you want to play the piano really well. My courses give you the tools to practice- even 5 mins a day- and see the benefits.

Alternatively your company could sign up for a longer course for those suffering from stress- this would be an 8 week course with no more than 10-15 participants. This can be during work hours or evenings. It could also be delivered in-house.
Afternoon or morning sessions, or even whole day sessions where participants can do tasters in sound healing, meditation and mindfulness are also available.
